Application are invited for admission into First year Post Graduate Courses under the Faculty of Science, Technology & Agriculture and Faculty of Home Science in the 2008 – 2009 academic session from Honours Graduates of University of Calcutta. First class Honours Graduates or its equivalent with (10+2+3) pattern, of other Indian Universities including Indira Gandhi National Open University, Netaji Subhash Open University and the Distance Education Programme of Other Universities in West Bengal. For Agriculture and Applied Geology courses 2nd class Honours Graduate in Agriculture and Geology of other Indian Universities are also eligible. For Applied Geology 3 years General Graduate with Geology and Mathematics are also eligible. Applications from students graduating not earlier than 2007 will be considered except Human Rights and Visual Communication & Culture.

Science: (26 courses)
2 Year M.Sc./MA. Course: Physics, Chemistry, Pure Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Electronic Science, Computer & Information Science, Biophysics Molecular Biology, Bio-informatics & Biophysics, Biotechnology, Genetics, Anthropology, Psychology, Applied Psychology, Physiology, Zoology, Botany, Applied Geology, Geography, Statistics, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Marine Science, Environmental Science, Atmospheric Science, Neuro Science, Bio-Medical instrumentation.

Technology: (12 courses)
3 Year B. Tech. Courses: Chemical Engineering, Chemical Technology (Ceramic Eng., Petrochemical & Petroleum Refinery, Oil Technology, Pharmaceutical & Fine Chemical Tech.), Polymer Science & Technology, Radio Physics & Electronics, Information Technology, Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Optics & Opto Electronics, Computer Science & Engineering.

Professional Course: 3 years M.C.A.

Agriculture: (6 courses)
2 Years M.Sc. (Ag.) courses: Plant Physiology, Genetics & Plant Breeding, Horticulture, Agronomy, Seed Science & Technology, Agricultural Chemistry & Soil Science.

Home Science: (3 courses)
2 Years M.Sc. Home Science (Foof & Nutrition) and (Human Development). One year Diploma in Home Science.

Human Rights: 2 years M.A. in Human Rights.

Visual Communication & Culture: 1 year P.G. Diploma.

1. Prescribed Application Form with Information Brochure for admission will be available from Secretary Office, 92, A.P.C. Road, Kolkata – 700 009 (Rajabazar Sc. College) and Secretary Office 35, Ballygunge Circular Road, Kolkata – 700 019 (Ballygunge Sc. College), at a price of Rs.50/-(Rupees fifty only) and Rs.20/=(Rupees twenty only) is to be paid for each additional form.

1. The Application Form and Information Brochure can be downloaded from the University official Website www.caluniv.ac.in and www.brainware-india.com/caluniv Dully filled downloaded Application Form may be submitted against the payment of Rs.50/-(Rupees fifty only) by C.U. Challan at C.U. Cash Counter. If required, additional forms may be downloaded. However, Rs.20/-(Rupees twenty only) is to be paid by C.U. Challan for submission of each additional form.

Date of Issue and Submission of Application Form 23rd July to 29th July ’08.

Application Forms to be submitted on all working days between 11a.m. to 2.00p.m. and 3p,m, to 4.00p.m.

Date of Publication of Draft Merit List (for C.U. Candidates only) 4th August ‘2008. Last of submission of claim for correction in the Draft Merit List 5th Aug. ‘2008. Interview Schedule for Non-C.U. Candidates and admission test for concern subjects notified in the Notice Board as well as in the University website.

Detailed information regarding Admission Test, Counseling, Interview, Publication of List etc. will be notified in the Notice Board.
