IGNOU invites applications for M.Phil., Ph.D. programmes
The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) announces admission to research degree programmes for January 2013 cycle.
The last date to receive the application forms is 7th September 2012
The entrance exam is to be held on 29th September 2012.
The entrance examination shall be conducted by the university at the national level on the pattern of UGC/CSIR. Venue will be IGNOU Head Quarters , New Delhi
Admissions are open for Ph.D. in Agriculture Extension, Dairy Science and Technology, Child Development, Nutritional Sciences,Computer Science, Education, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Gender and Development Studies, Women’s Studies, English, Hindi, Nursing, Inter-Disciplinary and Trans-disciplinary Studies, Commerce, Management, Physics, Chemistry, Life Sciences, Geology, Bio-Chemistry, Geography, Translation Studies, Tourism and Hospitality, Distance Education and Vocational Education and Training.
There are two M.Phil. programmes on offer viz., M.Phil. in Translation Studies and Distance Education.
A candidate is eligible for the entrance examination provided he has completed his post-graduation with 55% marks (50% in the case of reserved categories). Those holding M.Phil. degree or having cleared JEST of DAE or UGC-NET or GATE of IIT or those having at least five years of related Teaching/Practical/Industry/
The PhD programme Fee is Rs. 7,000/- per annum for 2 years. M.Phil. candidates are to pay one-time fee of Rs. 10,500/- which is inclusive of the course fee
Those fulfilling eligibility criteria in the respective disciplines may download the soft copy of the application form from the IGNOU Website www.ignou.ac.in and submit either in person or by post/courier to the Director, Research Unit at the university headquarters at Maidan Garhi with a demand draft of Rs.1000/- drawn in favor of IGNOU payable at New Delhi.
