UGC NET Results: Candidates planning to reach Court against qualification norms
ReplyDeleteNew Delhi: Earlier, we made you aware about the UGC NET results 2012 announcement related information and this time many candidates appeared for the National Eligibility Test (NET) 2012 are planning to enter the Court against supposed post-result alteration of the Test’s qualification norms by the authority.
ReplyDeleteAs per the reports, National Eligibility Test (NET) results were made online over the official website on 18th September, 2012 and next to this the UGC allegedly have changed the Test’s qualification norms for the general category candidates and made an aggregate of 65 per cent for all three of the NET’s papers to become eligible for lectureship.
While, if we talk about the OBC category then qualifying aggregate is 60 per cent and that for SC/ST category is 55 per cent.
Report says, In relation to this Bincy Verghese (NET, Malayalam language) told a well known daily that in the original notification of the UGC it was specified that candidates in the general category should score at least 40 per cent for papers one and two and 50 per cent for paper three to be eligible for consideration for the final preparation of the result.
Along with this she added, “There was no aggregate mentioned. I, for instance have scored 62 each for papers one and two and 98 for paper three. According to the original UGC notification, anyone in the general category who scores 155, would become eligible for consideration for the final result. Now, only those with 65 per cent or 227.5 marks will make the cut. I have not qualified. This new criterion was made known to us only after the publication of the results. Already about 30 candidates have come together to file a court case.”
As per the latest updates, OBC candidate now required 210 marks to qualify and earlier it was 138 marks.
