Regional Institute of Education (RIE) has invited applications for admission to the various Education Programmes offered by it at Ajmer (affiliated to Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati University), Bhubaneswar (Utkal University), Bhopal (Barkatullah University), Mysuru (University of Mysore) and Shillong (North Eastern Hill University (NEHU)) during 2018-19.

The Programmes offered, seat availability and eligibility for admission are as follows:


B.Sc. B.Ed. (4 year integrated): Programme is offered at different RIE centres in Physical Science Group and Biological Science Group as follows: RIE Ajmer, RIE Bhubaneswar: 50 for each stream; RIE Bhopal, Mysuru: 40 for each stream. Applicant must have passed Plus 2 / Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary or any equivalent examination in 2016, 2017 or should be appearing /appeared in 2018 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Statistics, for admission to Physical Science Group, and with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology for admission to Biological Science Group securing at least 50% marks in aggregate of qualifying examination with relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ ST/PWD applicants.

B.A. B.Ed (4 -year integrated): Applicant should have Passed +2/ Hr. Secondary/ Sr. Secondary or equivalent examination in Science/Commerce/ Arts stream with at least 50% marks in aggregate (relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ ST/PWD candidates) in 2016, 2017 or should be appearing /appeared in 2018. There are 50 seats each at RIE Ajmer, Bhubaneswar and 40 each at Bhopal and Mysuru.

M.Sc. Ed (6 year): This is an integrated Programme of Teacher Education leading to the Post-graduate degree, M.Sc.Ed. in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry with an aim to prepare Senior Secondary School teachers of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics without any option of intermediate exit before completing six years of study. There are 15 seats available for each of the M.Sc.Ed. Programme in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at RIE Mysuru. Applicant must have passed Plus 2 / Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary or any equivalent examination in 2016, 2017 or should be appearing /appeared in 2018 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Statistics, securing at least 50% marks in aggregate of qualifying examination with relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ ST/PWD applicants.

B.Ed (2 year): The seat availability is as follows at different RIEs for (i) Science and Mathematics Group and (ii) Social Science and Language Group: Ajmer, Bhubaneswar-50 each; Bhopal-40 each; Mysuru, Shillong- 25 each. Those with at least 50% marks in Bachelor’s Degree and /or in the Master’s Degree in Science/ Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science or Mathematics or in Bachelor’s Degree and/or in the Master’s Degree in Social Science/ Humanities are eligible for admission to the programme (relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ ST/ PWD candidates).

M.Ed. (2 year): There are 30 seats available at each of the RIEs at Ajmer, Bhubaneswar, Bhopal and Mysuru. Applicant should have obtained at least 50% marks or an equivalent grade (relaxation by 5% for SC/ST/PWD Candidates) in one of B.Ed OR B.A.B.Ed./ B.A.Ed./ B.Sc.B.Ed./ B.Sc.Ed OR B.El.Ed. OR D.El.Ed with a Bachelor’s degree in Arts/Science (with 50% marks), from any University / College / Institute recognized by affiliating universities


Integrated B.Ed- M.Ed (3 year): This is a professional programme in education, without any option of intermediate exit before completing three years of study. There are 40 seats for the course at RIE, Bhopal. Applicant should have a post graduate degree in Science / Social science/ Humanities from a recognized institution with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade (relaxation by 5% for SC/ST/PWD candidates).



Selection:
Selection will be based on the Performance in an Entrance Examination and aggregate scores in Qualifying examination in the ratio 60:40. The Common Entrance Examination (CEE) will be of 2 hours duration will be held from 9 am to 11 am on 10th June 2018 at centres as per the list given at https://ncert-cee.kar.nic.in/ExamCenterList.aspx. CEE will have questions from Language Proficiency (English) (20 questions, 40 marks), Teaching Aptitude/Attitude (30, 60), Reasoning Ability (30, 60).

Eligibility for applying to various RIEs:
Only applicants from specified states are eligible to apply to a particular Centre. However, at some centres for some courses, admissions are made at All India level. For B.Ed at NERIE, Shillong; applicant should be from Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Manipur, Tripura, Assam, Nagaland. B.Sc. B.Ed. / B.A. B.Ed./M. Ed at RIE Bhubaneswar: Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Manipur, Tripura, Assam, Nagaland. B.Sc. B.Ed. / B.A. B.Ed. / B.Ed./ M.Ed at RIE Ajmer: Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu And Kashmir, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand B.Sc. B.Ed. / B.A. B.Ed. / B.Ed. / M.Ed. / B.Ed.- M.Ed.(Integrated) at RIE Bhopal: Chhatisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Daman & Diu, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra B.Sc. B.Ed. / B.A. B.Ed./ B.Ed. / M.Ed at RIE Bhubaneswar: Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal B.Sc. B.Ed/ B.A. B.Ed/ M.Sc.Ed / B.Ed/ M. Ed at RIE Mysuru: Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Telangana M.Sc.Ed at RIE Mysuru: All India B.Ed- M.Ed. (Integrated) at RIE Bhopal: All India Prarambh School for Teacher Education Jhajjar, Haryana: BSc.B.Ed/ B.A.B.Ed: All India.

Application:
Application can be registered at https://ncert-cee.kar.nic.in/, latest by 6 pm on 9th May 2018 as per instructions at the website. The fee for entrance examination is Rs 800/- for General/OBC Category Students, Rs 400/- for SC/ST Category Student and Rs 400/- for PWD of any category Students. Application fee can be paid online using Credit card/Debit card/Net banking or through CASH by printing the e-Challan of SBI and crediting the fee amount in any branches of SBI. The challan is valid only for 6 days. Once fee payment is through, applicant can print/save the application form. Those selected through the entrance examination, have to submit to the respective RIEs at the time of admission, the printed application form along with all the enclosures including the photo copy of the mark sheet. Applicants can download their admit card after 14th May 2018. Those who are appearing in the qualifying examination in 2018 must enter their qualifying examination marks as per the schedule given in the website.

The result of B.Sc.B.Ed./B.A.B.Ed./M.Sc.Ed programmes will be declared on 4th July 2018 and the result of B.Ed./B.Ed.-M.Ed./M.Ed programme will be declared on 19th July 2018.
